1) Registration and general Information: Thank you for your interest in exposure36 Photography. Our workshops are intensive and provide a photographic experience greater than many classes that last for a longer time. The instructor does not do any personal photography during the workshop. The focus is on having participants learn the proper techniques to improve their photography. This is accomplished through field instruction and demonstrations, lectures, and expanded critique sessions. Registration is made via the exposure36 shopping cart or by US mail. exposure36 accepts most credit and debit cards, personal checks, and payments through PayPal. A signed liability wavier is required to finalize your registration. The liability waiver will be e-mailed to you upon registration; it must be returned to exposure36 at least 30 days prior to the workshop.
2) Pricing: All pricing for the workshops is in US Dollars. Many of the workshops are scheduled more than a year in advance. Due to changes, such as lodging and transportation costs, it is sometimes necessary to change the workshop fee. exposure36 Photography reserves the right to amend prices without prior written notice. If price increases become necessary, we will contact you immediately. Price increases of less than 10% will not be deemed sufficient grounds for a refund if the participant decides not to attend the workshop at the new price. Our workshops are based on a group size of four participants.
3) Payments: Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We can not hold a space in a workshop without at least a $200 deposit. At the time of registration you may make a $200 deposit or pay the full workshop fee in order to secure your spot in the workshop. Any workshop fee balance must be paid no later than 45 days prior to the start of the workshop. Failure to make the payment on time may jeopardize your place in the workshop. Due to other commitments and the number of people attending workshops, we can not provide advance notice about payments that are coming due.
4) Refunds / Cancellations: The following guidelines pertain to cancellations and refunds. All notifications of cancellation must be submitted in writing--either by e-mail or regular mail. If a participant cancels their reservation more than 60 days prior to the workshop he/she will receive a refund of the money he/she has paid minus an administrative fee of $100. If that position is taken by a person on the wait list, the Administrative fee will be refunded. If a cancellation notice is submitted with less than 60 days before the workshop starts, all payments will be retained. exposure36 Photography can not guarantee or be held liable for weather or landscape conditions, hotel conditions, meal quality, airline delays, dietary requirements, medical care, etc.
5) Lodging: Most exposure36 Photography workshops do not include lodging in the workshop fee. In those cases, each participant is responsible for making a lodging reservation and paying their bill. exposure36 identifies a “Base” lodging location on its website for each workshop. In situations where participants are responsible for lodging, they may make their reservations at any lodging location within reasonable distance from the base location. If the lodging is not at the base location, participants are responsible for being at the base location at the designated times. When lodging is difficult to arrange with short notice, exposure36 may make lodging reservations for all participants and include the lodging fee in the workshop fee. Whenever the lodging is included in the workshops fee that information will be included in the workshop description.
6) Transportation: Transportation is not included in any workshop fee unless otherwise specified. All workshops involve traveling from our base location. Therefore, vehicles are considered part of your equipment. We will make efforts to reduce rental expenses if we are contacted at least 30 days prior to the workshop. We will carpool as much as possible during the workshop to reduce costs and our impact on the environment. If we provided transportation for our groups it would increase the workshop fee by $100-200. Even more would be added to the workshop fee by the permits that are required for tour operators in many locations.
7) Air Travel: Air travel is usually required for most people to attend workshops. We strongly encourage purchasing trip insurance or refundable airline tickets. There are some rare occasions that a workshop is canceled by exposure36 photography (see #9 “Workshop Cancelation”). exposure36 can not be responsible for any travel expenses or non-refundable purchases or reservations.
8) Health Considerations: All of our workshops are within the physical capabilities of average people who are in good condition. Some of the workshops include walking up to two miles on uneven trails, moving along rocky outcroppings, hiking at high elevations, and photographing in very cold windy weather. By registering for any exposure36 workshop you are certifying that your health and physical condition will not create a risk for yourself or for any other participant. We assume no responsibility for medical care, emergency care, or dietary requirements. If you are uncertain about your physical condition as it pertains to a specific workshop, please contact exposure36 prior to registering for the workshop.
9) Workshop Cancelation: Our workshops are financially dependent on adequate registrations. When registration requirements are not met, the workshop may be cancelled. If exposure36 cancels a workshop, all monies paid by participants to exposure36 photography will be refunded in full. We can not be responsible for other fees such as hotel or rental car deposits, non-refundable airline tickets, equipment rentals, etc. We will provide a 45 day notice if a workshop is going to be cancelled.
